The Lion Inn is owned and managed by husband and wife team Michael and Caroline Jeffery.
The Lion is situated in a quiet village on the edge of the Minsmere Bird Reserve and within a couple of miles of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Southwold, Aldeburgh and Thorpeness are just a few miles away.
The nearest rail links are 3 1/2 miles away at either Darsham or Saxmundham.
The Lion Inn offers its customers a friendly service featuring well kept real ales, a variety of popular draught beers, in-expensive wines and spirits and of course home cooked food. We are pleased to cater for locals, holidaymakers with their children and pets, day-trippers and any one else that does not fit into any of the above categories!
Around the bar walls you'll find paintings and photographs for sale, all produced by local artists. These can make an unique gift or momento of your visit.
Drink
The Lion Inn features regularly in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide and is known for it's well kept real ales. You will always find 3 or 4 of these available. Not to ignore the keg beer drinkers, you'll find Carlsberg and Becks Vier lagers, Adnams Spindrift, John Smiths Bitter, Guinness Stout and Aspall Cyder always on tap.
We of course stock a wide range of bottled beers, soft drinks and the usual popular brands of spirits and liqueurs.
Our wine list though not large will satisfy most palates. Included in this list is our range of house wines, so you will always find a wine to fit your pocket and appeal to your taste.
Entertainment
Every Wednesday night we have a General Knowledge Quiz, all proceeds go to charity and there are prizes for the winners to be won!
On the second or third Saturday evening in every month the Lion Inn plays host to local bands, and a good time is had by all.
We also have party nights. Around the third Saturday in June is one such event, when Theberton Village has its summer fete, which for a small place is a very grand affair indeed. Fireworks night is another regular date and of course New Years Eve is always a good one.
